Welcome to Van der Valk Hotel Drachten! We want you to feel as comfortable and safe as possible. That is why our menu is also 'corona proof'. We hope you enjoy your visit and wish you a pleasant dinner. We hope that you will enjoy your visit to the fullest and wish you a lovely dinner.

À la carte lunch & dinner
Both hotel guests as well as non-hotel guests can enjoy our à la carte menu. The menu includes a broad selection of vegetarian, fish, and meat dishes.
In our kitchen we work with all 14 allegenes. In case you have an allergy, please let us know. This way we can inform the kitchen staff, who will do their best to meet your diet wishes.

About the family

Welcome in Drachten! In 2001 our hotel became a van der Valk hotel, and we placed the toucan on our rooftop. From 2001, van der Valk Drachten was led by Tjomme Langebeek and Corry van der Valk. Since then we have made huge developments. From April 2019, their son Sjoerd Langebeek has taken over as General Manager. His brothers, Stijn and Derk, are managing location Groningen-Hoogkerk together on a daily basis. This year at Hotel Drachten we are busy with new construction plans. We would like to keep you updated of these developments via Facebook and Instagram.

We strive to take the environment into account. This has been rewarded with obtaining the Green Key Gold certificate. Green Key is an international quality mark for sustainable companies in the recreation and leisure industry. This quality mark shows that we do everything we can to save the environment, this is without compromising on our guests’ comfort and quality. The menu makes this visible by linking four quality marks to the relevant products. This concerns the marks vegetarian, European organic quality label, Marine Stewardship Council and Beter Leven Certification.

We also believe it is important to use local and fresh products. Our goat cheese comes from De Molkerei from St. Annaparochie. Every day De Molkerei is processing fresh goat milk in a natural way to produce for example goat cheese. The cheese is prepared and packaged without dyes or flavorings and without preservatives. Our dairy is made at Jansma in Haule. With their traditional, fair, farm and local products, they distinguish themselves in taste and quality. In our kitchen we work with all 14 allergens.
