Discover Friesland with our bicycle package including a map of the Tourist Network the Frisian Forest. Hotel Drachten is situated approximately 15 kilometers from National Park “de Alde Feanen”, where different routes can be followed. During the tour, you will cycle through the forest, alongside the water and through small villages. While taking the tour, you will have lots of restaurants along the way to sit back and relax with a cup of coffee.
Several times the route will take you over water, different small ferries will take you to the other side. Take the time to look around during these small crossings, there are many birds to see. Up to 100 species of birds nest in this region. The Alde Feanen is one of the most important water filled bird areas of the Netherlands. The so-called “pontjesroute” is 26 kilometers long and perfect to cycle in one day. A longer route is also available and is 60 kilometers long. This route can be spread over several days.

The hotel follows the guidelines of the RIVM. When it is not allowed to eat your dinner in the restaurant, you can pick it up in a take-away form in our restaurant.
