Annet
F&B Manager
Annet is 30 years old and lives in Kollum with her husband and two children. As F&B Manager at Van der Valk Hotel Drachten, she oversees the big picture within all departments, from menu cards and packages to staff budgets and waste streams. No day goes as planned, and it is precisely this dynamism that makes her work so enjoyable. She values the diverse team and the pleasant working atmosphere. In addition, she enjoys affordable overnight stays with her family at other Van der Valk hotels.
Tineke
F&B Supervisor
Tineke has been working at Van der Valk Hotel Drachten for 18 years and feels completely at home in the service industry. She started as a part-timer alongside her studies, briefly worked at the Front Office, but missed the dynamics of the restaurant. Now she is a familiar face at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With her hospitable attitude and eye for personal service, she creates a warm atmosphere. Especially the regular guests, who have been coming here for years, make her work extra special.
Corry & Tjomme
Van der Valk family
In 2001, Corry Van der Valk and Tjomme Langebeek placed the iconic toucan on Hotel Drachten, with the ambition of turning it into a thriving business. Corry is proud of the growth and development of the hotel, with guest satisfaction always remaining a top priority. Tjomme describes the past years as challenging and valuable. With their sons now at the helm in different locations, they hope that enjoyment in work continues to go hand in hand with family and health.
Cecile
Front Office Manager
In 2018, Cécile made the switch to Van der Valk Hotel Drachten. She started as an assistant front office manager and quickly progressed. Her passion lies in administration and guest contact. No day is the same: from schedules and group requests to reception support. She also assisted in the opening of Hotel Texel. In her free time, she enjoys walking and cycling throughout the Netherlands. Her goal? To provide every guest with a pleasant stay.
Dinie
Housekeeping Staff
Dinie has been working with great pleasure at Van der Valk Hotel Drachten for over 20 years - a true milestone! During the week, she ensures a fresh and hospitable environment with her regular cleaning routine, and on weekends she enjoys camping and spending time with her grandchildren. Her day always starts with two cups of coffee and a glance at social media, after which she energetically starts working. The best part? The camaraderie with colleagues, making every workday a joy.
Simone & Esmeralda
Team Marketing Communication
As a creative and commercial duo, Simone and Esmeralda work for three unique Van der Valk hotels: Drachten, Groningen-Hoogkerk, and Texel. They brainstorm, create, and collaborate with different departments to bring ideas to life. Simone loves coming up with creative solutions and optimizing concepts. Esmeralda enjoys illustrating, from birth announcements to icons for the menu. Their work is versatile, dynamic, and always with one goal: to showcase Van der Valk in a unique way.
Gerjan
Waiter/waitress
Gerjan is one of our employees in the service at Van der Valk Hotel Drachten and enjoys the variety in his work. Every day is different, and the interaction with guests and colleagues makes it even more enjoyable. His strengths? Flexibility and an open mindset. He will soon start with hotel management school, a great opportunity to combine work and study. Thanks to the growth opportunities, he continues to develop himself and contributes to a smoothly running and hospitable hotel.

Melissa is HR advisor for Van der Valk Hotel Groningen - Hoogkerk, Drachten, and Texel - De Koog. Together with her team, she supports over 300 employees in the field of HR. Her strength? Quickly adapting and providing advice on a wide range of issues. Every day is different, and that's what makes her job so enjoyable. In her free time, she likes to explore other Van der Valk hotels or enjoy the hospitality industry. With her expertise, she ensures smooth and professional HR support within the hotels.
